DL05 - Version 0.9 Released!


After chipping away at this for the past 6 months, the next big update is finally ready. 

The keen-eyed viewer may notice things looking a little different nowadays:


Patch Notes 

In reality, there have been hundreds of small updates since the last release, but here are some highlights:

1 - Graphics

  • Fully tiled floors, walls and backgrounds! So pretty!

  • Some rooms are now rendered in silhouette. Ooh!


  • Two bullet points doesn't quite do justice to the amount of work that was poured into this, so here's a third.

2 - Audio

  • The melee attack now makes a 'whack' sound when you hit an enemy or switch, and feels much more satisfying.
  • Added various menu sounds & feedback to improve UX.
  • Not much has changed on sound, so this bullet is a reminder of how much work went into the updating the visuals.

3 - Gameplay

  • Most of the platforming sections have had their difficulty smoothed out to make them more fluid and less tedious.
  • There are now some mean looking bad guys lurking around. Will you *pew* them for intel, or is it safer to sneak by?
  • Flowers now heal Bel one heart when touched. Also, if she has the secret flower, she will regenerate hearts slowly.
  • You can now skip most of the dialog in the first bedroom scene by holding the attack button for 2 seconds.
  • Fixed several collision bugs which caused clipping or unintended zipping.
  • Added some tutorial prompts to help prevent players getting stuck in opening areas.
  • Springs now break after bouncing on them 3 times.
  • Super Secret Time Attack Mode: Press T to display the Official Game Timer and show your friends how fast you can skip the story!
